Industry tenure
Deryl’s career has been anything but ordinary. He started out in fashion design, dabbled in wardrobe styling, and then found his true calling in post-production, where he earned a reputation for meticulous editing and a sharp creative eye. With over a decade in post-production and VFX, he became known for his ability to see what others might miss—a skill that led him to roles such as: Head of Visual FX, VHQ POST Regional Leading concept development, shoot direction, and VFX supervision. Head of Editorial, VHQ POST Regional Overseeing the editorial and visual effects departments, ensuring things ran smoothly (or at least looked seamless). Head Editor A stint in London, Kuala Lumpur, and Jakarta, cutting everything from Benson & Hedges Golden Dreams to ESPN Extreme Games. As a Film Director, Deryl developed a signature style—sophisticated yet bold, polished yet playful—earning recognition for his sharp edits, strong visual language, and an ability to turn the ordinary into something cinematic. This naturally led him to explore VR, AR, and AI-driven content creation, always looking for new ways to tell stories in a visually compelling way.
